We started in chester, at the part of the parking lot we usually go to when we go there. Riley showed off pictures of the stitches in “her eyeball.” We made our way towards St Scholastica to the trails that go next to their football field. I assumed Riley wandered off, when apparently she had found water and assumed everyone else was going to get some too, but she ended up separated. She is pretty darn fast though, no one had any doubts that she was rejoining the group.
I kept trying to convince everyone to join the Lost Forester, but don’t think I had any takers. They don’t know the fun they missed out on, Forester is fun.
We found ourselves rejoined with Riley running up a ski hill. And at the top, we debated who could and who should get into the chair lift. Ethan got up first. Then after he got out, Riley climbed in. She seemed a bit nervous getting out though.

Partway down the hill was a bear. At the time, it seemed like the bear was pretty distracted. But I feel like looking at the pictures after I think it might have been looking at us.

The night ended with our usual tradition lately of eating snacks and drinking beverages in the parking lot. Riley seemed eager to get rid of some charging cables, and was pretty disappointing that people weren’t using lightning ports. She was also trying to get rid of a glow in the dark pickle ball thing.
After talking about how much fun some of the people we know were probably having at Mount Renier this weekend, we discussed the possibility of a Mediocre road trip. While theorizing destinations, we talked about the things we would value in a group road trip to go trail running. Not sure where this discussion will lead us, but I would bet money that it comes up again.
Until next week, Mediocre Trail Friends, signing off.
